The CPSP Governing Council meets in Raleigh, NC this week. From all over the country Chapter Conveners and persons designated to represent Chapters will gather in Raleigh, NC starting Thursday November 29th at the Hilton Raleigh-Durham Airport at Research Triangle Park. The meeting begins with a business lunch staring at 12:00 Noon and will end with lunch at 12:00 Noon on the 30th.
Those who fly in to Raleigh/Durham Airport are encourage to use the Hilton's FREE shuttle service by calling 919-941-6000.

Union Theological Seminary respected and valued the Rev. Tim Fauvell. He was a lecturer in the Department of Field Education and he offered CPSP accredited Clinical Pastoral Education training programs as a CPE Supervisor for many of Union's theology students.
Recently he was remembered on Union's website. Remembering Tim Fauvell was posted Tuesday, November 13, 2007 that includes a film clip of Tim addressing members of the student body.

Barbara McGuire experienced what she described as her "two seconds of fame" by showing up in an article and a video published in the New York Times.
Hospice Care Network, where she currently works as a Bereavement Counselor, had a camp for kids who had a special person die. You will find the article and video both touching and informative.
The Times reporter followed her group around for a full day and wrote the article about Daniel and Derek, who met when they participated in a children's bereavement group. As you will read, both boys suffered a similar tragedy, bringing them together as friends.
Look for Barbara in the video. Although she had no speaking part, she is the one sporting her very own Dr. Suess hat.

The Rev. Timothy Fauvell's funeral will be Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at the Riverside Church starting at 11:00 AM.

The Rev. Timothy Fauvell died Wednesday night, November 7, at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was Chaplain for Children's Hospital of New York. Tim was enroute from Union Theological Seminary, where he conducted his evening clinical pastoral education program jointly with Joseph Diele, supervisor-in-training. Tim was on his way to visit a patient when he collapsed and died in the automobile, apparently from a heart attack.
Francine Angel, who was very close to Tim, was notified immediately. Tim did his supervisory training with Raymond Lawrence, who said he was one of the most promising trainees he has ever worked with. Tim was certified Diplomate earlier this year. A very gifted man has been lost to the CPSP community.
As it becomes available, the PR will provide information about funeral arrangements.

God of love, we thank you for all that makes every patient exceptional without exception, for that which lights up every person’s life and pathway: for
the star in the East,the Chanukah candles,
the spiritual renewal of Ramadan,
the principles of Kwanzaa,
the solstice moon and sun,
and other lights that also celebrate and liberate
and make room for every life.
We thank you for our various pathways, and for our crossroads as well: for this hospital which especially reveals our diversity and connectedness, our individuality and our commonality, our uniqueness and our oneness, for all that makes us human together, we give you thanks.
We thank you for the music of this holiday season that lifts our spirits and inspires us to make room for ourselves, for one another and for all persons.
