Although the year is 1973, Rev. Bill Alberts, a CPSP Diplomate, was involved in what is now a very contemporary issue as he faced the dilemma to perform the marriage of a gay couple who were his parishioners. The Boston Phoenix recently published this fascinating story:
...It didn’t take long for Alberts to make a decision. He thought about his role as minister. About his duty to care for parishioners as Jesus had — the same Jesus who said "Love thy neighbor," the same Jesus who set the oppressed free.
