THE DEATH OF CHARLES GERKIN

The PR sadly announces the death of Charles V. Gerkin who died 4:30 AM the morning of February 20.

Chuck Gerkin was a giant in our field. He was a clinical supervisor, professor and mentor to many of us while serving as Director of the Georgia Association for Pastoral Care in Atlanta and later as Professor of Pastoral Theology at Candler School of Theology. Our lives have never been the same due to his personal influence and impact.

At a national and international level, his voice and thinking shaped the dialogue in the field of pastoral care, counseling and psychotherapy. He leaves behind an immense legacy.

We have no details about the funeral other than it will be today at 3:00 PM. -Perry Miller, Editor
